Advanced Internal Medicine for Pets

If it weren’t for Dr. Doyle, I don’t think my mother would still have her cat, we can’t thank her and her staff enough!!!

I visited Advanced Internal Medicine today and was really impressed by how kind and caring the staff was. You can truly tell how much they love animals and genuinely care about helping pets and their owners. The compassion and positivity from everyone really stood out, and it was clear this is a team that truly cares about what they’re doing! :)

We brought our cat in for breathing issues after seeing 3 other vets for what was diagnosed as asthma. Don’t be deceived by the fancy office. I filled out multiple pages of medical history and it seemed as though those were not reviewed. Most communication during the visit was handled by the vet tech Hailey. I spent a total of less than 5 minutes with the vet after being there nearly an hr and all testing was already performed. I was told it was not asthma and either cancer or a fungal infection. When the results came back negative for fungal infection and xray showed low suspicion of cancer and again suggestive of asthma, the vet never bothered to reach out. It was clear after collecting the nearly 1400 dollars, she wouldn’t be bothered to contact me further. Any communication was handled by the vet tech thereafter. Then, the recommendation for treatment was the same thing we already did but at a lower dose. It didn’t work two months ago, so I advocated for a higher dose of inhaler or off label medication. The vet tech then took back my suggestions to the vet, and I waited for a response. It took almost 2 weeks to get all of the correct prescriptions. They did not respond to my emails or texts in a timely manner. When I inquired about a missing prescription, I was told the vet didn’t think that was necessary despite it being in the discharge instructions and the tech telling me she would send it in on the phone and email. There was no follow up or apology that that information was incorrect and I was in fact supposed to get another prescription. I just happened to check my email and see it the next day. Sadly, my cat passed away 2 weeks after I saw this vet. I was hopeful this vet would have the expertise to help my cat, but it was clear this was just another visit to make money. As I was in the waiting room every single person that checked out had a Balance of over a grand. If you are interested in costly care with little care or compassion and no follow up from the vet, come here. I have never met a vet so disinterested in a case. I would take your money and pet to medvet if you want top notch care, which is what we received after wasting time here. EDITED 5/12 in response to owner: I was in no way contacted daily for two weeks. I was offered oral steroids only as initial recommendation from your vet tech. I declined this as my cat had already been on a higher dosage of steroids than what was suggested (10 mg was your offer when she had been on 15 for several weeks with no improvement. )Kind of insane to pay 1,400 dollars to get offered the same or worse treatment. The higher steroid inhaler was my suggestion, not Hailey’s or the vet. It took Hailey 2/3 days each time to respond, often I would reach out for additional information when I wasn’t contacted. So no the prescriptions weren’t delayed because I wouldn’t commit, it took 2 weeks for the prescription to be emailed. Check your records. I wasn’t contacted by the vet any time after initial 5 min consult but now feel free to talk to the vet after my cat has already died. If you thought it was “something else” then someone should have told me that. I was only given two possible diagnoses which were allegedly ruled out by your additional testing. Communication, care, compassion and attention to detail is severely lacking. By the way, My cats name is COCOA. Run!!!!

We were referred by our regular vet for an ultrasound. We had the best experience imaginable. We would give 10 stars if we could. We were impressed by the separate entrances for cats and dogs when we arrived and after arrival everything and everyone was professional, and very organized and the staff were top notch. Thank You for a great experience!
