Zero stars. I took my newly adopted dog there for a sick visit because I suspected she had pneumonia. Sure enough, Sr. McBride confirmed pneumonia. What he failed to tell me was how bad her condition was based on the x-rays he took. Sent her home with an injection of antibiotics which are not approved for and have zero efficacy in treatment of acute pneumonia. I had to rush her to the ER a couple of days later and she ended up in the ICU. Two ER doctors looked at the x-rays from Monfort Heights and determined my dog had clearly shown signs of SEVERE pneumonia and should have been immediately referred to urgent/critical care. Despite their efforts to save her life, she passed away from ARDS in the ICU two days later. ARDS is a horrible way to die. When confronted with the fact that he completely disregarded her grave condition when there still was a good chance for recovery, McBride lied, attempted to claim he had disclosed it to me and was completely unconcerned by his failure. Appalling negligence. Got his $800 and that is all that matters. This place is fine if you need simple annual vaccines or a nail trim but BEWARE if your pet has a serious illness.

Monfort Heights Animal clinic is the best !!! All of the vets are great !!! Doc McBride and Dr. Mark McBride are very knowledgeable and great with my two 10 year old dogs !!! My girl dog has had 3 major operations and they took care of her like the princess she is !!! All the techs are gentle and good with the dogs . The front desk is great and takes care of business quickly , especially Emily , she is the best - she definitely goes the extra mile !!! Thank you for taking care of my two buddies for the last seven years !!!

We worked with Monfort Heights Animal Clinic for 2 and a half years with our Miniature Schnauzer, Scotch. They were always compassionate and determined to figure out what was wrong as well as willing to fight with our insurance for get claims paid. In February of this year, we got the news no pet parents wants - Scotch had untreatable cancer. Their staff worked with us to make Scotch’s final arrangements both for euthanasia as well as after care and mementos. Their staff member I worked with grieved with me in the best way possible and encouraged me at what has been quite possibly the lowest moments of my life.. We had brought a blanket for Scotch’s final moments and left it there to be picked up later. When I came back to pick it up from the vet, every single staff member remembered me and checked in to see how I was holding up. The one staff member who didn’t know what had happened still remembered me and said “Scotch? I’m so sorry - he was such a sweetie.” Two weeks later, we got a note in the mail saying that the McBrides had donated to Purdue Veterinary School in memory of Scotch, which was so deeply touching. Scotch was not a sweetie to anyone who wasn’t us. He was extremely protective and generally disliked going to the vet, including growling and nipping. But the tender care and lack of judgement about us as pet owners was unbelievably comforting (he was a rescue, and I’ll admit I need to learn more about correcting and socializing dogs). The way that the staff and doctors treated us with respect, patience, and care is unparalleled. I’ve seen a lot of reviews about the staff being rude, and while I do find them direct, they have *never* said anything inappropriate or unprofessional and were, in fact, so comforting and sweet in this devastating time. They are simply direct, to the point, and managing a *lot* of animal parents. They deserve so much grace for that. 10000/10, we will be using them when we do decide to bring another animal into our lives.

Dr. McBride and his team were incredible and deeply passionate while on our journey with our senior Great Dane. They gave us advice and helped us with him as if he was their own. Their bedside manner is impeccable, and their explanations of things are clear and kind. We love it here and will continue to bring our pets for care. Thank you for all you’ve done.
